It only allows you to have enough calories that are needed for the entire day. Eating too much is considered unhealthy and may sabotage the entire weight loss process.
What is a very low-calorie diet?
The very low-calorie diet is a typical way of loading foods during the second phase of the HCG diet. Your intakes of foods are cut down to be able to meet the needed calorie for fat burning. The allowed calorie intake during this phase is from 500 to 800 calories per day. You can consume this amount of calorie without harming your health because is accompanied by the diet hormone. The P1 only last for 2 consecutive days. It is a step before the VLCD. To know that you are ready for phase 2, you have to see to it that you properly do the loading days. The first and second days is gorging days. When you wake up on the third day without feeling hungry it means that you are ready for VLCD. However, if you feel hungry and unfilled you can have a 1-day extension of your loading days. Make sure that you have done it properly to have a healthy start of VLCD. This is also to make sure that there will be no constant occurrence of hunger on P2.

The Dos during Phase 2 of the HCG diet
#1- Do stay hydrated for the entire day
Most of the food toxins are stored in your body fats. Drinking adequate amount of water will flush out the toxins from your bloodstream. Water is important while your body is burning your body fats. It is also helpful in the proper flow of nutrients to the various parts of your body during the VLCD.
#2-Do weigh every food choices before cooking
Weighing your food choices is as important as having daily weighed in of your body. It must be part of your routine especially in preparing meat choices. You have to weight each food before cooking. The meat must be less than 100 grams. Weighing food choices is also a good idea of food portioning during the low-calorie diet.
#3- Do remove the fatty portion of the meat
The food choices allowed during the HCG diet are those that are whole and lean. That is why when you are preparing the meat portion of your meal you have to make sure that the fats are already removed. You have to careful especially during the VLCD because it does not allow fatty foods.
#4- Do skip the HCG shot when you have menstruation
HCG shot must be maintained every day for greater weight loss. However, if you have menstruation during the VLCD it is acceptable that you will skip your shot. It is because sometimes HCG can cause issues with menstruation. There are also some cases that premenstrual symptoms (PMS) will cause various hormonal reaction and cravings. Continue the diet but take a break from having your HCG shot.
Important tips that can help you during the P2 of the HCG diet
- Break or potion your 500 to 800 calorie meal for the entire day. This is for you to stay full the entire day without going beyond the limit.
- Eliminate the foods that you are not in your food list. Oily foods are also not allowed.
- You can also plan your meal that is based on the diet food list. But, do not combine multiple meals in one serving.
- You can use substitute sweetener if you find hard dealing with a sweet tooth.
- Avoid mixing vegetables. You are only allowed to have 1 kind of vegetable in each serving. It is because the calories in vegetables vary from each other.
- Familiarize fully the protocol for future references. Do not use makeup or skincare products containing oils.
Makeup and other cosmetics during P2 of the HCG diet
It may sound absurd but you have limited access to makeups and cosmetic products when you are on the HCG diet. It is not allowed especially when it is oil-based. Most of the oil-based make up, lotions and cosmetic are made from animal oil which is not allowed during the HCG diet. The only allowed oil for your body is those that are made from mineral oil. You do not have to worry too much about your skincare because the HCG will improve the glow of your skin. It makes it healthy while you are on the rapid fat burning.
