The best way to stop lose bowel movements is to maintain hydration. One of the reasons why your bowel movement is irregular is losing electrolytes. When it happens during the HCG diet, ensure that you hydrate through drinking water or having soups for your meal. Eat some protein-rich foods to help harden your stool. Water and soup can help renew your electrolytes and regain your energy.

  • High-fat foods
  • Too spicy foods
  • Foods that contain  sweeteners
  • Foods that contain high levels of fructose
  • Raw foods
  • Sardines or foods with additives
  • Alcohol
  • Carbonated drinks
  • Milk

When to see your doctor?

Many cases of diarrhea can be treated at home or with over-the-counter medications. You need to limit the OTC products during the HCG diet to prevent them from interfering with the HCG. If diarrhea lasts long, you should see your doctor. Stop your HCG shots and see a doctor if your situation does not improve for two days. Dehydration caused by diarrhea is also a sign that you need medical attention.

What causes diarrhea during the HCG diet?

Diarrhea happens when the rate of digestion increases during the HCG diet. When you lose waste two to three times a day, it means that the HCG works well. It does not need a medical emergency at all. But, when it causes fatigue and dehydration, you have to see your doctor.

How long does diarrhea last during the HCG diet?

Mild diarrhea lasts for a day or two. It can be one of the side effects of increasing metabolic rate and digestion during the HCG diet. Maintain proper loading of healthy foods such as protein. A mild LBM or Loose bowel movement during the first few days of VLCD is normal. When the HCG works to its fullest, the signs of diarrhea will be gone.
